OPINIONS
Opinions: In defense of my educational choices
WALLACE: Being a graduating senior majoring in literature, it's about daily someone purses their brow in conversation with me and asks what I'm going to "do with my degree."

They generally find the reply "I'm going to know about literature" to be either a laughable silly joke or the dangerously misguided musing of an idealist whose perspective on "real life" is downright infantile.

In these moments, the confused stops and sighs that sputter out of my interrogators are often much more of a response than whatever words they eventually manage. The whole scene feels like a pat on the head from a grown-up.

Opinions: Wrongfully accused
All illegal immigrants are criminals.

Well, at least by virtue of the term "illegal" immigrants, they are criminals — just like how football is played exclusively with the foot and just like how coconut milk is truly milk.

Opinions: Finding the candidate for Generation Y
MASCHOFF: This past Saturday, presidential candidate Mike Huckabee decided to make a little pit stop at the long-running, sometimes-funny "Saturday Night Live." With sketches ranging from Dana Carvey's Bush No. 1 to Darrell Hammond's Al Gore to the dead-on impersonation of Bush No. 2 by Will Ferrell, "SNL" has become the go-to show for every young generation's political satire in the last 30 years. Therefore, I was not surprised to see Huckabee, who has also been frequenting "The Colbert Report," sitting right next to Seth Meyers at the "Weekend Update" desk trying to make a bid to the 18 to 25 audience in an attempt to save his failing campaign.

Opinions: Backing the war… still
CLEVERLY: I'm just going to start this article off by saying it: In regards to the war in Iraq, I'm pro-war.

Obviously with the information that the public now knows, we might have not gone into the war and I would have probably had a different opinion, but it's time we all look at the facts, stop pointing fingers at the Bush Administration and jump on board.
