Police Beat: Trespassing woman hides in sauna

Tempe Police reported the following incidents Sunday:
- A 49-year-old Peoria woman was arrested Sunday morning on the 400 block of West Hermosa Drive on suspicion of criminal trespassing and possession of dangerous drugs and drug paraphernalia, police reported.
Police contacted the woman while searching a backyard during the investigation of a domestic dispute and found the woman hiding in a sauna, according to the police report.
While police searched the woman, she advised officers that she had items hidden in her bra, police reported.
A search of the woman's bra revealed a small plastic bag containing a usable quantity of methamphetamine, according to the police report.
An additional search of her purse revealed more methamphetamine and a used joint, police reported.
The woman was transported to the Tempe City Jail on counts of first-degree criminal trespassing, possession of dangerous drugs and drug paraphernalia.
- An 18-year-old Glendale man was arrested early Sunday morning on the 700 block of East Encanto Drive on suspicion of possession of prescription-only drugs and failure to appear in court, police reported.
An investigation revealed the man was in possession of eight carisoprodol, or Soma, pills, according to the police report.
Soma is a muscle relaxant available by prescription only.
After police read the man his Miranda rights, the man admitted he had purchased the drugs and said he was aware it was illegal to possess them, police reported.
The man was booked into the Tempe City Jail and held to see a judge.
- A 24-year-old man was arrested Sunday evening on the 1900 block of East Concorda Drive on suspicion of a weapons violation and possession of marijuana and a stolen gun, police reported.
Police contacted the man during two shooting investigations and searched the man after finding marijuana and a gun in plain view on the inside of his vehicle, according to the police report.
During a search of his vehicle, police found a stolen gun and marijuana, police reported.
The man was booked into the Tempe City Jail on one count of misconduct involving weapons, possession of marijuana and possession of a stolen gun.
Tempe Police reported the following incidents Monday:
- A 19-year-old Fountain Hills woman, an 18-year-old Tempe man and a 19-year-old Tempe woman were arrested early Monday morning on the 600 block of West First Street on suspicion of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, police reported.
Police arrested the suspects after contacting them in a parking lot, according to the police report.
The Fountain Hills woman said she used a blue glass pipe to smoke marijuana in her car, and the man admitted that a leafy green substance in his possession was marijuana, police reported.
All three suspects were transported to the Tempe City Jail.
