ASU Police reported the following incidents Saturday:
- A 21-year-old male ASU student is suspected of committing aggravated assault Saturday afternoon at the Student Recreation Complex, and ASU Police are attempting to contact the student, according to police.
The student punched a 30-year-old male student in the face while playing basketball, police reported. The 30-year-old student told police that the two were playing basketball when the other student kicked the basketball away from him, then punched him in the face several times with a closed fist, according to the police report.
The 21-year-old then said, "I will kill you" and "F--- your mom," police reported.
Police took several photographs of the 30-year-old's swollen face, and the student said he is willing to aid in prosecution of assault, according to the police report.
- A 25-year-old Mesa man was arrested at the ASU Polytechnic campus early Saturday morning on suspicion of DUI, police reported.
Police contacted the man around the 7200 block of East Utah Avenue at the ASU Polytechnic Lot 10, according to the police report.
The man was seated in his vehicle and appeared to be passed out or sleeping, police reported.
The man's blood was tested, and he was cited and released with a promise to appear in court.
- An 18-year-old male ASU student was arrested Saturday afternoon at Manzanita Residence Hall on suspicion of having an outstanding warrant, police reported.
Police contacted the student by phone regarding an outstanding warrant for failing to appear in court for a March 24 incident involving counts of public nuisance and being underage with alcohol in the body, according to the police report.
The student was arrested and later released from the ASU Police station after posting bond of $1,000, police reported.
The license plate of a 30-year-old Tempe man was seized by ASU Police Saturday morning and impounded for destruction, police reported.
Police observed a 2007 registration tab on the man's license plate and, after running a registration check, found that the plate was not valid for highway use, according to the police report.
Police initiated a traffic stop and contacted the man on Maple Avenue and University Drive, police reported.
The man said, "Do you want to see the one from yesterday?" and showed police a copy of a citation he received on April 25 from Tempe Police for not having current registration.
